CORM UPDATES

Coming of Age

The young adults at the CORM Children's Village experienced classroom and practical teachings, a daring feat at a high ropes course, prayer, and affirmations. The topics covered during this week were integrity, self-control, justice, obedience, love, and courage. Thank you, Phil and Shane, our ministry partners from Be2Live. You did a phenomenal job of connecting with their hearts. At the end of the week, our young men are dressed like princes and our young women like princesses. We celebrate them and honor them and speak Godly things into their lives.

Community Impact Team (CIT)

CIT has given away their 2nd set of turkeys (male and female) to the community we meet with every other Saturday. In one year they will give back a male and female to be given to another member in the community. Paying it forward. Before the presentation of the Turkeys, Mavis educated the women about the importance of having a well balanced diet.

4th of July Celebration

What a blessing to celebrate the 4th of July with our American friends and volunteers! We enjoyed fellowship, hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad and of course FIREWORKS!

Initiative for Children at Risk Africa (ICARA) & IJM Training

Patrice Penney led a three day training for CORM Staff and social workers from IJM and surrounding areas on "Nurturing the Hearts of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children". She taught on trauma and gave valuable tools that can be used to help the children that come into our care.

Birthday Celebrations

In August CORM had a Community Birthday Celebration! We enjoyed dinner, birthday cake, a dance performance, and of course, no party here is complete without a dance off!
